Hockey, weather, frustrations...

Hey everyone!
I didn't get on here last night to write, I ran out of time before I had to leave. I was too busy watching all the hockey! Leafs vs Habs was a good game, as always, and even better because the boys in blue won! It wasn't great hockey, I think most of the guys are just getting their legs back. Tomorrow night should be a lot better, no preseason has really messed with a lot of teams it seems. The weather here last night was insane! No other way to put it. At about 2:30am it was raining really hard, and then it got incredibly windy and started to thunder and lightening! At 3:00am it was the worst I believe, it sounded (and felt) like the wind was going to knock buildings over. Other places got a lot more snow than we did, but here it was mainly a really wet snow that melted as it hit the ground. Mother nature is bizarre this week, the forecast is looking rather interesting. I really hope that tomorrow afternoon it is ok for highway driving so we can get into the city without taking the GO.
The past few days at work have been busy, because my partner hasn't been coming in for whatever reason, and I am having to do all the work by myself. It is frustrating because nothing is being done about it, this has been happening for the past few weeks and no one in management has said anything. That's all I have to say about that though. I haven't been getting a lot of solid sleep here lately, so I am hoping to get a little nap in tomorrow before we head into Toronto. I have a ton of plans for the rest of this week as well, maybe I will take some pictures to post in the near future. I always take pictures with my iPhone these days, because it is so much easier, but then they never get posted. I got a really good new camera that I have yet to use, I need to start taking pictures with it! I am taking it tomorrow to the game, so I will for sure have some sports pictures to post later in the week if I remember.
I just took a break from typing to watch hockey highlights and search pinterest for a bit and now I forget what else I wanted to write. It's getting late though, and I need to go have my shower and get things ready for work. I think I am going to try and figure out how to blog from my phone, that way I can write at work and then post it when I get home. I sit and talk with my co-workers at break, but some time I would rather just be relaxing for the 10 or so minutes.

sleepy

it is going to be a long weekend. I am exhausted today. I slept for 5 hours with out waking, and then my phone rang and even though I didn't fully wake up, it was enough to ruin the rest of my sleep. I hate when people call and they know you are sleeping, it's rude. I really need to start remembering to set my phone on 'do not disturb'. My eyes are really heavy right now, I need to go shower though and that will hopefully wake me up a little. I can shower and go straight to sleep though, so I don't have high hopes. I have a feeling tomorrow I am going to crash all day.
Hockey tickets came in today and they look so bizarre, I wish I had taken a picture to insert here, They have no game information on them, because it was unclear what the schedule would be due to the lock-out. We know who they play on the games we are attending, so it's not an issue, it just looks funny.
I really have nothing else to write about, my phone is going off with facebook notifications, so I am going to go check that and have my shower.
Hopefully I will have something exciting to write about soon.

it's snowing :(

It is snowing here again:(. Ha! We have had hardly any snow this winter, but this afternoon it started to snow and got COLD again. We have had such a bizarre winter thus far weather wise. I know that up north there is a lot more snow and I heard that some of the USA is getting hit pretty hard with the white stuff right now as well. I don't mind the snow, but Monday I want the roads to be clear so that we can DRIVE into Toronto and not have to take the GO train. The train is fine going into the city, it's getting back OUT that is the not so fun part. There's way too many people trying to catch one train all going to the same destination, makes getting on the train hard. Plus it is a lot cheaper to drive, the fees for the GO transit have become ridiculous here lately. Either way, it will be a fun day! I love the first home game of the season, the ACC is a really fun venue. Plus, they announced today that for fan appreciation due to the lock out, there are a TON of free giveaways, not only at the home opener, but through out the season. February 23 (I believe) they are opening the ACC top fans to view the away game vs Ottawa and giving a ton of free stuff away then, including food. I would have been going back for games regardless, but it is nice that they are doing these things to show appreciation to the fans that stuck by the game. It is funny to me how many people said they were going to boycott...in Toronto the free practice skates were full of fans and tickets sold out just as fast as they normally would. Maybe it's just us Leafs fans, but it seems as though the fans are as strong as ever.
Other than hockey and cruise excitement building, I feel like right now there isn't a lot for me to blog about. Every day that goes by, I am getting more and more excited for my entire Florida trip, not just the cruise. That will definitely be the highlight of the trip, but there are a lot of other plans I am looking forward to. Speaking of the trip (I KNOW this will get annoying haha), I went on my reservation for the hotel today to make a change, and the price for the room that I have booked went up since I booked! I am SO glad that I just went ahead and booked when I did. The cheaper, the better. It was only a little price difference, but I am still glad I got the lower rate. I think that the hotel is going to sell out because it is the official cruise hotel. I'm sure the Thursday night will be complete chaos but also complete fun with the amount of people getting ready for the cruise. At first, I was a little bummed out that none of my friends are going with me, but as time goes by and I plan more and more, I am actually looking forward to NOT knowing anyone. I think that if I was with a good friend, we would spend most of our time together and not interact as much as I want to. Going alone, and meeting my roommates there is going to force me to get out and talk to everyone and meet all kinds of new friends. I'm actually more excited than I think I would be if I was going with a group of my friends. That's not to say I wouldn't have a great time with my friends, I just really look forward to the adventure of the unknown. The only part that I am still nervous about, and probably will be until I get there, is the flying alone. I'm not really worried as much as anxious about it. Pearson Airport I will be fine with, but it's Miami I am worried about. I'm still hoping that I find someone who is travelling from my area that I can meet up with, I am going to start asking around soon and see what happens. I know that my roommates all live fairly close to each other, so I believe they are planning on travelling together, or two of them at least. I really want  a non-stop flight though, so for me it isn't an option to go with them, although that would be super fun.
I am going to log off of here now, I have to get some stuff done before work. I am going to work on finding other things to blog about next time, I'm sure if I actually sit here and have a plan before I start writing I will come up with something a little more exciting. Otherwise this is going to turn into a blog purely about sports and my cruise, and I'm sure it won't be very entertaining.

Ahhh Windows 8

Ok, this past weekend our desktop computer finally died, it had been slowing getting worse and worse. On Sunday my dad went and got a new desktop, it has Windows 8 and I can not figure it out for the life of me. It is so much different than the last version of Windows we had, plus I am use to using my MacBook. Since my MacBook is in getting healthy again, I have found myself using my phone instead. I am trying to figure this new system out, some things are really easy, but others are just so new that it will take a while. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I think I am going to have to look online for tips and tricks to really utilize everything it has to offer.
As I am sitting here typing this, my poor phone is going crazy, haha. I am in the middle of a facebook chat. Best invention ever! I am the only one in the group not in the USA, so it really makes a difference for me. Instead of having to pay to text, this works just as easy and a lot cheaper. I am really bad at keeping my phone charged though, I know it is horrible for the battery life. I might have to take a charger with me to work tonight so I can keep it alive for the morning. I'm really excited to meet my room mates for the cruise, I am sure we are going to have an amazing time. One of the girls has been on the previous cruise, so she is our guide to all things BSB Cruise related. I'm really glad that at least one of us has prior experience, because it seems like there is a lot to take in.
This is a really short post, but I need to get a move on and get some stuff done before I have to go to work. I am sure Monday night I will have a HUGE post, being the first hockey game (at home) of the season. I am PUMPED.

Day 2

Today makes two day in a row of blogging. I know my first post shows up as the date being today, but I actually wrote it yesterday. I don't think that I have much to write about today. I am looking forward to Saturday because it is FINALLY the first NHL game of the season. Man, I have been going through with drawl with this lockout we had going on. It was brutal. Even though the season is super shortened this year, I'm still excited to get into game mode. I am taking my friend to her first game EVER this year, she is a HUGE fan, for her birthday. Last year there was a game on her actual birthday, but I went with someone else, I can't remember why now. I think it was the team that was playing in Toronto. Regardless, I am hoping that the Leafs win while we are there, either way it will be fun. I love the atmosphere at the ACC.
What else? Hmm...there's so much I could write about but my mind has gone blank at the moment.
This week I am seriously starting the C25K program. I have had it on my phone for months, but just never got around to starting it. I think my excuse was that it was too hot in the summer(it WAS hot!) and then I just got busy and never did it. I have joined a biggest loser competition though, we are in teams, and so I am going to take it seriously. Thus far I have slacked because I was really ill. I had the flu and bronchitis at the same time, making breathing hard. I am finally fully recovered now though and feel like I am ready to get going. I am going to start with running outside for now because we don't have any snow, but I am looking on kijiji for a treadmill. I feel that I will do a lot better if I have the option to stay inside some days to run. Maybe as I get further into things, I will add more blog posts about my progress.
I think I will leave this post here, nice and short.

Fresh Start!

Wow, it was an entire year since I last wrote! That saddens me, but in all honesty, I completely forgot about this blog. I went back and deleted ALL my previous posts because I want a fresh start here. It is the second week of 2013 and thus far the year is going really well. I am SO excited for 2013, there are a lot of fun things happening. What I am most excited for is October, when I am flying into Miami, boarding the Carnival Imagination cruise ship and sailing to the Bahamas. That is going to be super fun, but what is going to make it even better is that it is the Backstreet Boys 20th anniversary cruise! I can hardly contain my excitement for this vacation. A lot of the people I tell think I am crazy, but I don't care. I have been a fan for as long as I can remember and I think it is going to be amazing. I don't know any of the ladies I am cruising with, but that is what I think is going to make it an even better adventure! What better way to meet new people and have a great vacation, being on a cruise ship filled with people that all have at least ONE common interest. I have added quite a few ladies to my facebook, including my room mate and we have been communicating with each other via there. I really wish that I lived closer to some of the ladies so that we could have a little meet up before our trip. Either way, I know that my room mate and I will get along, we have the same sense of humour and a lot of the same interests. We booked this cruise October3, 2012 and we don't set sail until October 25, 2013! Waiting is pure torture, but at the same time it is fun to anticipate what is to come. I have slowly been making purchases for the trip, just little things really, things that I will use on vacations before the cruise, but that will also come in really handy for the cruise. The only thing that I am slightly nervous about is travelling to Miami. I have NEVER traveled alone before, so it is a little intimidating to think about. For my own sake of mind, I plan on getting a direct flight there and home. I will feel a lot more comfortable knowing that I do not have to change planes and worry about all that comes along with that. My flight is the only major part I still need to take care of, I have been watching prices for a few months, and honestly, there isn't much price movement. I only have two real flight time options, so I think that I am going to go ahead and book here in a few weeks at the latest.
Another weekend I am looking forward to is August 2-4. That is the Civic long weekend here and it is also an amazing concert weekend. There is a new festival about 15 minutes from my house called 'Boots and Hearts'. It is a HUGE outdoor country music jamboree. Last summer was the first year and the acts were amazing. This year is looking to be just as great. We bought our tickets a few months ago because there was early bird pricing and we saved quite a bit of money. We are planning on taking my family RV to stay in, which will be nice. Last year it was one of the few weekends it rained here, so even though it was still a great time, it got really messy. Having the RV will be nice because it will give us somewhere to stay dry if it rains at night, but also we will have the generator to run a fan if it is really hot, as well as the kitchen. In all honesty, that weekend will be a blast, but I also imagine it will be a bit of a shit show (for lack of better term). The group of us that are going tend to get a little wild when we spend a weekend together with good music and beer.
I think for now that is all I have to write, but I really want to make it a point to write more. My MacBook pro is going in tomorrow to get a new hard drive put in, I have been having a few random problems with it, and I need more space, so the best solution is just a new hard drive. I'm not sure how long it will be before I get it back, but I am sure once I have it, I will be blogging more. I find it a lot easier to type on now that I am use to it. This acer keyboard I am currently using is set up a little different and I keep hitting the wrong key.
